Musings

I've wondered recently how I would erase my online footprint if I were to try and leave it. It would be a monumental task to say the least. I've been on so many sites and signed up to so many boards that I have so much information out there, mind you it's mostly all the same information.

I just can't imagine going back and trying to find everywhere I've been that I've given information. I've been online regularly since about 2000. I started at iVillage and moved on from there to so many, many different places, signed up for newsletters, writing groups, parenting groups, groups about allergies, eczema, frugal living and healthy living. I've been to magazine sites and signed up for those boards and newsletters. I've been to a lot of different places.

So what would one do to get rid of all that information that is out there. Because I really don't think some of the places exist anymore, some don't have cancel options I'm sure. So where would one begin?

I don't know if I would even consider doing this but sometimes it feels like I need to move away from the computer and do other things. The computer and Internet have become such a big part of my life in a way. It's not that I couldn't live without it but I've made connections with some people. People I've never met in real life but only in cyberworld. While I'm not particularly close to most of them I do care about how they are doing and that they are well. It's kind of weird how you become part of a community like these ones and feel like it's place you belong in a way.

So for now I'm sticking with them and they can have a piece of my life for now and here I will still share what I can.

Snow Bound. What an excellent name for a blog. I was just looking around for an article about being snowbound to link with my Snowbound Sorrow poem. No snow yet this year in Jersey. (Crossing fingers)
