Home

I'm back!

Yup, I had two overnights away from my kids. They survived and so did I! Surprise, surprise!

I got to spend some time with one of my best friends that I hardly ever seen now since she moved away last year. So that was a treat we got to talk and go for dinner, it was a nice visit. I also got to spend a lot of uninterrupted time with my hubby which was very, very nice. We dated, basically. Went to a movie, the new Indiana Jones, it was good! I really enjoyed it but there was this one really cheesy part that I thought was just too much. But other than that it was very good. I've always loved Indie!

Got to do some browsing, I didn't really shop too much just got some essential. But I did get to do something that I haven't done in a long, long time and have completely missed. I went to a bookstore, two in fact and walked around and looked at books, I picked up quite a few and the best part, I didn't have to hurry because I didn't have kids with me or a husband waiting out in the vehicle. It was absolutely heaven!

So I went down Monday, hung with my girlfriend that night, went to my meeting on Tuesday, hung with my hubby and then drove back today. I got the kids new helmuts and they were thrilled, even Bubba, now I have to get my tire fixed so we can all go biking together. I'm really looking forward to that.

I didn't see too much action in the wildlife department—a porcupine, a fox and a rabbit along with lot's of birds and gophers. Hubby on the other hand when he drove down Monday morning saw two moose, two beer, some elk and would you believe a Buffalo. We don't know of any buffalo up in these parts but he swears, he even stopped the truck and watched it, it watched him back too! I believe him but the guys he works with don't.

I've started rereading The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, who passed away last year. His series is incomplete but another writer has been hired to finish the last book as per Robert's instructions and with plenty of note and help from Robert's wife. That is due to come out in the fall of 2009. So I figured I'd get started reading. I had forgotten how good the first book was and how it dragged me in.

The one good thing about his style of writing is that it gets my creative juices flowing and my whole 5 hour drive back home I kept thinking about Margaret and Ian and Dara and Jaree, if you have followed my writing in the past, this is a good thing. I've been making some notes and hope so start writing more about them in the very near future.

Well, I have a bit of cleaning up to do before I lay my head to rest, so good night.
