31 Days - Day 18: Meditation

Meditation is a great way to calm the mind and reduce stress. You can do it in the form of yoga or just sitting in contemplation. Okay, maybe not contemplation. While reading a book called How Plato and Pythagoras Can Save your Life the author talks about the best time to do mediation is after a round of vigorous exercise like running. The best place to do it is by some water as well. I like the sound of that.

Mediation is something that comes really hard for me. It might be that I'm a worrier or that I have a house full of children who when I even think about having a moment to myself they pounce. I haven't quite mastered letting my mind be free and thinking about nothing or contemplating my life. I do enjoy doing yoga and I don't think I've reached any level of contentment or exhilaration from it. I am working on it.

So this is my next goal, to work on meditation.
